About Me

Who is Dr. Vanda?

Dr. Vanda Corbett, BSc, ALCP, MScPP, DC, has known since she was just two years old that she wanted to become a chiropractor; or as she pronounced it the time, a “firecracker.”

As a child, Dr. Vanda suffered from a debilitating condition that left her with extreme pain, causing her to frequently need a wheelchair for much of her youth. Unable to diagnose her condition, doctors recommended leg amputation to alleviate her ailment, which she and her parents vehemently protested against. Instead, her parents, who hold to the belief that the body has a natural ability to heal itself, opted to use chiropractic care on her; and today, she has virtually no trace of the illness that plagued her youth. After being exposed to so many different health care means around the world, she chose the continue the Chiropractic tradition in her family and help others unleash their innate healing potential.

Chiropractic is a form of natural medicine that uses hands-on spinal adjustments and other treatments to remedy musculoskeletal conditions, particularly muscles, joints, bones, connective tissue, and the spine. Based on the philosophy that the nervous system is the master control of the entire body, and the spine that encases the nervous system has the direct responsibility for the health and well-being of the tissue, cells, and organs to which the nerves are traveling to. Chiropractic addresses the root cause of the health concern, not merely the symptoms.

Positive psychology is commonly defined as the scientific approach of studying human thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that focuses on strengths and determining what makes life worth living. Through this study of what gives life a rich and meaningful experience, the focus is on positive experiences, gratitude, resilience, grit, and compassion. The field focuses on happiness, joy, and inspiration as well as hope and optimism, which encourages one’s well-being and health. Dr. Vanda uses this alongside her chiropractic treatments to reassure her patients that wellness truly comes from within.
